Everyone knows that property taxes are too high. But Governor Paterson’s proposed ‘Tax Cap’ gimmick is not the right solution.

They tried this scheme in California, Massachusetts and Illinois and the consequences were devastating. Billions of dollars in education funding were cut, resulting in overcrowded classrooms and teachers being fired. Yet this badly thought out plan failed to reduce property taxes.

Tell Governor Paterson and the NY State Assembly that you oppose the Tax Cap.
